Remote Medical Care is a telemedicine service, which allows constant monitoring of the patient’s condition and performance of preventive and control check-ups outside medical facilities. This form of care is made possible by the use of mobile devices which measure vital signs. Results are transmitted to the Remote Medical Care Center, where they are automatically analyzed. If any abnormalities are detected, medical staff contact the patient and calls an ambulance in the event of an emergency.
With its portable ECG signal and breathing recorder, Remote Cardiac Care enables continuous monitoring of heart activity. Using integrated detection algorithms, the recorder identifies disorders in a patient’s heart rhythm. The relevant parts of the ECG record are transmitted to the Remote Medical Care Center and analyzed in detail. If any anomalies are identified, a paramedic, acting in accordance with a planned operational procedure, takes a detailed medical history and refers the patient to a remote consultation with a physician, discusses the case with an on-duty physician or, where there is a threat to the patient’s life or health, calls an ambulance. If the patient feels unwell, they can also initiate ECG data transmission to the Remote Medical Care Center.
Remote Care for Seniors allows constant monitoring of a patient’s principal life parameters by paramedics, and consultations about their state of health and well-being in their advanced years, with treatment provided by a general practitioner, physiotherapist, dietitian, psychologist or other medical specialist. Examinations can be performed by the patients themselves but also by their caregiver or medical staff, at home (for a single patient), in a nursing home, or at a center catering many patients (services dedicated to groups of examined patients). Based on telemetric results, the assigned doctor can contact the patient, order a home visit, or call the emergency ambulance service.
Implementing the services of the Remote Healthcare is possible thanks to the Comarch e-Care platform, which permits continuous, remote monitoring of a patient’s health. The platform medical data obtained from devices monitoring particular vital signs to be received and processed. It also supports medical staff in implementing agreed plans of action.
